We read in the gospel of John, “Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying: ‘I pray not only for these, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me . . . ‘”
We share that divine presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. In our desire to live the rule more fully we call ourselves brothers and sisters. Our goal is interior change and our fraternity, our family assists us in this ongoing desire for change. We gather each month to break bread, share our stories and our spirit in the common Spirit we share. We can see in our fraternity portrait we come from different walks of life and even different cultures. Yet we are family in the Holy Spirit. Our rule gives many examples of how we should live in fraternity but I call our attention to rule 19 which states “Mindfully that they are bearers of peace which must be built up unceasingly, they should seek out ways of unity and fraternal harmony through dialogue, trusting in the presence of the divine seed in everyone and in the transforming power of love and pardon.
